World Cup 2010?

So South Africa? What are your opinions/concerns on this event? What do you think, Are you excited? Do you think we can pull it off?















I am in USA, so all I get are a few articles in IOL, so basically I just want to know, Whats really going on. Iv'e seen the models for the stadium that are going to be built and its pretty impressive, so are we going to be ready to deal with all these tourists, or is Australia going to have to come in and "save the day"?































And should we legalise prostitution as it has been suggested by the Police commisioner for this event?

well i really want to go for when i graduate from high school! cuz im a freshman and by the time i graduate its 2010..but my parents dont want me to go soo sad..!! my dad told me "no your gonna get aids" haha but i really wanna go!!!

In responding to some answers do you know why SA is not a great country anymore it is because of its people they are so negative with everything and yet doing nothing to help. we can pull it of we have the will to make it happen and it would be a memoriable event not for SA but for the rest of the continent

I don't have any interest what so ever in soccer, football what ever you want to call it. Every time it is on TV i change the channel as quick as possible















All that i know that it is going to chaos when 2010 in south africa















South Africa is not capable to host it















The tourist is going to be rob and killed and then maybe the world will see what is really going on in south africa

I'm not a soccer fan at all, the only reason I want 2010 to be a success is so that the bloody Australians don't have to save the day (Damn, I don't like those guys). LOL































On a more serious note - I don't know if we have the capability to turn our crime rate and our public transport situation around in three years and then after that still have the means to erect the necessary infrastructure for the stadiums and hotels for accommodation purposes. No doubt it will be beneficial to many South Africans if we do pull it off - and for that reason I hope we do succeed.

We hosted the Grand Prix, which is a huge success and event in Durban, South Africa, and will definately have even better success with soccer in 2010.















We love the tourists, yes there are dangers in security, but then if you are ignorant of certain situations in South Africa, then YOU are responsible for your own actions.















You have been warned about theft, robberies, so don't come to S. Africa with a placard saying, "look at me, I am rich and just want to be mugged!!!"

The (law-abiding) people of South Africa will pull it through in spite of the bad ANC government and the criminals (but I repeat myself) and the latter will, in the process, take all the credit and make a lot of money on the backs of the former.
