Why are their Asian teams in UEFA?

I was wondering why there are Asian sides playing in UEFA. Turkey and Kazakstan are two in particular that come to mind. I know Turkey has a tiny chunk that is geographically Europe, but that is not even the point. They have always been Asian conquerers in Europe.

That is a good question. Perhaps it is because UEFA is the world's toughest division. However, Asia is on the rise and they may find Asia will be worth it for them in the future. It is nice to be in UEFA for another reason. Club football makes much more money in Europe than Asia.

That's right. I heard Liverpool doesn't want to go there to play an Isreali team due to all the violence there right now. Is that true?

yes Rafa benitez doesnt want the team flying out there, and quite right too.

This is true. Playing in Europe is worth more money for both the clubs and national sides. It also challenges teams which should help them grow in strength.

Also for Israel, they wouldnt be safe in Asia.

Ah but for the next world cup Australia will be in the asian qualifying so it works both ways i suppose, however this could be slightly different as they see it as a better chance of qualifying for more world cups

Really? That is interesting. It will be good for football overall I think. As for Turkey, well really they are Asian, but the western part of Turkey looks more European with all the left over Greek influence.
