Why do Americans play a Football code without the chance to play in a World Cup ?...

...Really whats the point ? Compared to other football codes like Rugby, Rugby League, even that "soft" game of soccer, there is atleast a true International competition, thats the real test and true reward, when you can defeat EVERYONE else in the World ! In Australia we don't just play that rubbish known as"Aussie Rules" or AFL, but actually dominate the World in BOTH Rugby League, where we are know as the "Invincibles" as well as Rugby where again we will fight out the World Cup this time most likely against South Africa or Possible New Zealand. In either code there is nothing better than smashing England and France and being on top of the World ! So my Question is, do you guys know what your missing smashing England, New Zealand, France, South Africa, Canada, Wales, Ireland, Argentina, etc etc etc... So what the point in playing a game you can only play against yourself ?

all the best american football players play in the nfl in this country if an nfl team was to play a nfl europe team it would destroy them so whats the point most nfl europe teams are made up of americans trying to make their way into the nfl

and i have no doubt if an upstart league in europe ever started up and they prove to have the talent of the nfl something like that would happen

There is no other football team in any country that could come close to playing with an NFL team, let alone a NFL pro bowl team.

And besides, other european countries are so small that they have to play othe countries...but the US is so large and we have 50 states, so we can come up with a league of 30 different teams from all over the US, and the competition is great!

American football is where the most money and attention is for the sport. The top international players play in America and the ones on the cusp play over seas or in Canada in hopes to make a team in the U.S. The same thing goes for basketball with the NBA. Certain sports are more popular in certain parts of the word and outside the U.S. there just is not enough fan demand for American style football.

Well, I guess when other countries take up the "American" sport of football, then we could possibly branch out and have an international team to compete. We have so many sports in our country, that we don't have the need to get into the international sports. Most countries have one sport that thrives, which is usually soccer or as you say rugby as well, which I did not realize. We have at least three major sports with hockey coming in last as the fourth sport, just in our country alone. We don't need to go outside our borders. The NFL and MLB make tons of money and the competition in our leagues are outstanding. The elite players for both leagues play in America with folks from the Dominican, Japan, China, and Venezuela trying to get into our leagues, because they know this is where the best competition is located. I guess in the end, we just don't have to leave our borders to have the excitement and the enjoyment of beating quality teams.

Thats crazy no other team could play with the US first of all. YOu must remember that the way most countries grow up playing soccer, we play football. then also No pro player is going to come in and play a football tournament during their offseason. Nobody understands the beating a person's body takes during a football season, and to submit it to a tournament post season would be career suicide.

But I am quite sure that if the rest of the world ever found a way to offer enough money to put on a tournament, the US can make up a pan-am team or a group of arena football league rejects to flyy around the world and beat on every country they come in contact with.

What's the point of playing other countries when we'll inevitably kill them anyways? Our American team, comprised of 3rd-tier D-1 players, D-1a, II, & III (lower tier for only division one, really), just killed south korea 77-0, and that'll probably be a pattern. Now, imagine if we had all our prime players going against the "best" of the world...it'd be slaughter. You might even see Tim Couch take a snap or two.
