Love the Italians, or hate the Italians, it doens't matter, but you have to be impressed. Only two goals conceded all tournament, an own goal and a penalty kick. With some fire power up front. A masterful display of football. My foacourite was seeing Del Piero play well and BUffon being unbeatable.

Materazzi, you may have some points that you hit spot on, but with an attitude like that you will only get grief. You are like the ornery bastard at the pub at 10:55 watning to order five more pints, and bitching when he does't get them. I do have to agree with your statement about Zizou, he knows better. He's been playing his whole life and has heard many serious insults and there out there, mush worst than Materazzi. Footballer, Materazzi is just taking the piss, relax. As for his analysis, he is spot on, I agree with you. Zidane knows better. He doens't have much of an excuse, he has heard it all before. However, like he said, he is human. TO me, it means sometimes we error and make stupid mistakes. All is forgiven Zidane, but if you think it is ok, and your statments saying you don't regret ait are ok, then you are truly an idiot. I highly doubt that though. I think he does regret tarnishing the game. I'm not sure how much of his excuse even washes with him. He snapped at the wrong time and for lesser things he has heard before.

Italy Deserved the win because of stern Defensive Play, they proved everyone wrong and showed that pace although a strong asset is not a necessary to win, They conceded two goals an own goal and a penalty and that really is increadible, Canavarro was outstanding and gattuso was superb and pirlo is the best midfielder in europe

Ouch! I'm keeping my head down to avoid getting hurt by the crossfire. At the end of the day we know, Italy won, Zidane has a wicked temper (he's done this before) and Portugal introduced a new sport to the soccer pitch, synchronized dry land diving.
