What is your take on Plans to legalise prostitution for the 2010 football World Cup in SA? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7509357.stm I think it is quite "amusing"!;-p The local authority in Durban wants legalised adult entertainment venues during the tournament. But African Nazareth Democratic Movement (ANDM) president Thokozani Hlatshwayo said the proposal was "against the word of God". What do you think? Thanks all;-)

What is your take on Plans to legalise prostitution for the 2010 football World Cup in SA? I think that its the worst idea ever. It will be eroding the morale fibre of our country even further- well at least what's left of it.

What is your take on Plans to legalise prostitution for the 2010 football World Cup in SA? I am completely flabbergasted. I can?t believe I?ve read that! What does one call such proposals? What are they saying in essence? That something considered a crime in SA today, is going to be made legal purely for the 2010 world cup. Please somebody tell me I am dreaming or that I have lost my mind. Why in heavens name would we want to follow the German example? They have filthy and degrading adverts on television every night till six in the morning, with naked women posing, moaning, legs spread, finger in mouth, beckoning and enticing men to dial a NUMBERRRR! It is sickening. It should not be allowed. It is South Africa and the foreign people must accept and follow our South African rules as far as I am concerned. We dare not bend our rules to satisfy and equal the decadence that other countries have fallen into. Odie: I understand and accept your point of view but they want to legalize prostitution purely FOR or because of the World Cup! What kind of reasoning is that? If they supported the decision with valid reasoning then we could understand even if we do not necessarily agree with it?.but telling the world we are legalizing it for the World Cup? If you see somebody walking around with a paper bag over their head?it is me, cringing with embarrassment...again!

What is your take on Plans to legalise prostitution for the 2010 football World Cup in SA? I support it. I would rather have the industry that can be regulated and protect the workers. I am not saying that I approve of the industry but I'd rather have it regulated than underground.

What is your take on Plans to legalise prostitution for the 2010 football World Cup in SA? This is terrifying and extremely naive. Regulation does not help prostitutes or make the industry safer. It makes workers more vulnerable to abuse because they have to register and lose anonymity. It legitimizes the role of pimps and increases the trafficking of sex workers and child prostitutes. This is proven. We need only look at the Netherlands example......now they are claiming prostitution is an employment option for the poor. When the the Dutch got the ruling from the EU that prostitution was an economic activity it opened the floodgates to importing migrant sex workers. Same thing in Germany, Australia and Switzerland. Most of the women and children come from Asia and Africa out of desperation and poverty......more exploitation of people of colour. It doesn't promote women's health because there is no increase in the health infrastructure to ensure that health regulations are adhered to. Legalizing prostitution does not mean condom use will be mandatory. There is no way of enforcing that. HIV will become an even worse problem than it is already. Governments stand to profit financially by legalizing prostitution, just as they do from the sale of cigarettes and alcohol, and there is no turning back because the revenue becomes something they rely on. No, no, no......South Africa......I hope your government does not allow this.

What is your take on Plans to legalise prostitution for the 2010 football World Cup in SA? Prostitution is one of the biggest growing business in S.A after the fall of apartheid so I think it would be better unionized than legalized.
