| whats with all the replacement talks? To the previous comment Australia or USA are not ready to host a World Cup. There have been rumors on various websites about Mexico and Brazil taking over. England and Spain are also available options. The reason Australia and USA are not ready to host a W.C. like many other nations is because you can't just prepare your stadiums, have all the hotels necessary, and proper amount of law enforcement within two years. Where do you think the USA is going to put over the 1 million people who come, if most hotels in the USA are always booked. And to answer the actual question there is always a back up plan just in case. For example if there was a natural disaster that kept South Africa from hosting the W.C. or some war in the nation 3 other countries would be available to step in. And Mexico is a choice since they are already preparing to host the 2011 U-17 W.C. and have also hosted 2 W.C.'s in the past so they have the resources for an event of such a magnitude. And Brazil case is similar they are already preparing for W.C. 2014 so they would be ready to host it sooner. However FIFA is pulling for S.A. since they already used over 200 million dollars and don't want that to go to waste. |
