my take on uefa cup trouble?

manchester was expecting two continental teams to get to the final traveling with a max of about 30,000- 40,000 fans and the police had rescources and the plan was drawn up,however rangers got to the finals and the fans were told to stay away 2 days later they were to be welcomed

now in the fan zones there was limited toilets, infastruture could not take it,the fan zones were selling booze in glass bottles, the fans were hemmed in,the police allowed fans tanked up into the fanzones

while i will never condone the actions off a minority of fans, the police and council need to take part blame

here here. well said, but will anyone listen to that?

there arent enough people with open enough minds to do anything but watch a news bulletin, from which they make their entire mind up on the whole scenario.

i totally agree, but too many narrow minds they all just think all rangees fans want to cause trouble. there was also the fact 100s of ppl didnt even get to watch it when the screen failed, after payin a lot of money to go there. And the police were very heavy handed, which made the problem 10 times worse.

Your take is spot on, manchester should never be allowed to hold any major football event in future, the city council and police are run by a bunch of clowns.

all the genuine fans know what happened in Manchester..i was told by the police just to dump my bags of rubbish because there were no litter facilities in place for the masses that were there...we had to queue for ages to get into toilets that were disgusting...we paid over inflated prices for food and beverages and we still had a bloody good time...apart from the small minority of idiots who have tarnished what should have been a wonderful day...I'm over explaining myself and other decent rangers fans to people who have no genuine interest in what happened..they are just as sad and bigoted as the morons who caused the bother

For the one who said Manchester should not held this kind of events anymore. I think there's no city in the world with the facilities to host more than 100,000 ppl drinking from 8 a.m. or even the day before. It's true that the screen failed and that sucks but if your home tv antena fails you are not gonna start beating the c***p out of your familiy and friends, or breaking in pieces your TV. British Autorithies should do something about the drinking, Football is a beautiful game but it's just that a game. And we are going to ruin it.
