Anybody Not Impressed With Euro 2008?

I keep hearing from the analysts that Euro 2008 was supposed to be a great tournament... okay it had some drama and good stories.. but I wasn't impressed with the quality.

Spain... the champion... I thought was very limited... against Sweden they couldn't hold on to the ball if their life depended on it... against Germany.... they systematically took the Germans out of the game... but had no vertical explosiveness or creativity whatsoever.

I really enjoyed watching Russia & Turkey play... I hope the qualify for the WC... and can't wait to see Nederlands 2010.

But overall, unless something changes in the next 2 years I think fans of UEFA football will be sorely disappointed once these teams have measure up against the good teams from Africa & the Americas.

You're talking complete nonsense. Euro 2008 was a fine tournament with fine champions. Compare the flair here to Germany 2006.

i think that euro 2008 was GREAT!!! it was full of qame shockers & players that were underdoqs become biq names. :] i mean some underdoq countries like turkey & netherlands came a lonq way. when no one thouqht they couldnt make it out of qroup staqes did well. i mean i think euro 2008 was VERY qood!!!!!

Without Turkey it would have been boring as hell... I literally fell asleep watching the Italy vs Spain game..
