Alright, can anyone explain me why is Turkey - a member of UEFA since 1962 - listed under Asian football forums? Turkey is European, at least football-wise. Look, this is not something to be contested. This is not EU talk, this is not a matter of culture, religion etc. or some other subjective issue. This is common sense.

Easy mate. It was categorized there by cultural background. Nobody ever said they were not members of UEFA. Calm your language friend, we are all here to enjoy and discuss. If you want them to have refence to UEFA, just do it mate.

And how do you define this 'cultural background'? Say, what does Greece have anything to do with Iceland or Sweden in terms of culture? Or maybe it's because Turkey is predominantly Muslim? In that case what are you going to do with Bosnia or Albania? Please, you make zero sense. Football-wise, Turkey is 100% European.

Barish, welcome here. Relax. You'll have a heart attack if you don't. Just start a Turkey UEFA thread. As for Albania and Bosnia, yikes dude, I don't need to bring crazy nazi types from European or Muslim world here. Lets talk football. Once again welcome.

I apologize for my overreaction. Are you the one in charge here? I assumed that you were a fanatical bigot as this subforum is, well, a total distortion of reality, but you seem to be a nice person. Perhaps, I should have been calmer. Thank you for your welcome. I am sorry if I offended you.

Personally, I can't understand everytime someone disagrees with someone else they yell racism. Complete nonsense. However, having read all the posts, I do sense that you are better than that. Welcome to our forum. I also want to ask that it is more than Greeks that are here. Macedonian may be proud to be Greek, but we are all proud to be what we are and proud to be here together. If you like, I am sure I can talk to your new Greek friend to help manage the Turkish section here, but keep the racism nonsense out of it.

Now that we are all freinds, you may be surprised Greeks do have ties with Swedes. In fact, Swedes have ties with Turkey even over the centuries. Greeks also have ties deep into Asia when Alexander marched all the way to India. There are villages on those paths that still hold Greece close to their hearts, so we all have a connection to each other mate. These ties also go into Africa. Anyway, it is a small world. Talk to you soon.

On another note, I wanted to ask, was it Fenerbahce or Galatasaray that had all that success in Europe?

Sorry, we put Turkey EUro 2008 threads in Euro 2008 forum, however the Turkish league was placed in the Asia area. We are just updating the site.

We will fix this for the future. (FIXED)
Welcome to the forums

Unfortunately it's Galatasaray. They won both UEFA and Super Cup in 2000 and made it to quarter finals in Champions' League in 2001. I'm a Fenerbahce fan as you might have suspected.
