Never is too harsh for people to say.

Apparently, they forgot that Turkey finished 3rd at the last World Cup losing to champion Brazil twice, almost beating them.

They, like Netherlands last time, are a team that is really good that failed to qualify.

Turkey currently stands at 14 in the FIFA rankings - they're not a bad team. Honestly, I was stunned they didn't qualify. I think they'll win (or come close) in 2010 - if they qualify. Thing is, I think the 2010 World Cup will be good for them, because it will be about the SPORT, not the politics around them. Considering it's hosted in South Africa next time 'round, it really will be all about the game and not your political stance. I really, really think they have a good chance of coming close in the next cup. They're a strong team and play well.
