What is wrong with the Turkish Football teams?

After a UEFA cup win from Galatasaray, 5-6 years ago, did some one hear from them in European Football? Was it just luck, 10 times in a row? or how about Fenerbahce? Do they have any chance, they do have quality players like Anelka, Appiah, Alex de Souza? What the Hell is wrong with these teams???
