Spl

Some upsets this week, Hearts bet Celtic 2-1, 2 goals from Roman Bednar and celtics goal by Petrov who looks to be hon his way out to Aston Villa to link up with former tic manager Martin O'Neil.

I went to ibrox to check out the new look rangers team from the stand, le guens got us playing some neat football we just need to get used to the system and sort out the defence a little as both rodriguez and svensson dont look to comfortable. buffel is running riot and sionko is working hard, but the stand out for me is jeremy clement who was playing in the holding midfield role with hemdani, the guy is a ball winner and can create attacks. charlie adams looks good to and has a nice left peg. dundee united scored goals from nothing really, two botch-ups from karl svensson gave them a 2 goal advantage before a chris burke goal coming only 60 seconds after he came on frm the subs bench and an og from the united left back who came on as a second half substitute too. New boy Sebo came on and he looks impressive, built like a brick shit house, looks like he is wearing american football pads under his jersey, he is solid. although the result is dissappointing we created plenty of chances and i have a feeling this is going to be a successful season domestically and in europe.

the other results were:

aberdeen 1-1 ICT
Falkirk 1-0 Dunfermline
Kilmarnock 2-1 Hibs
St Mirrren 2-0 Motherwell

obviously early doors yet but here is the current league table:

P GD Pts
1 St Mirren 2 3 6
2 Hearts 2 2 6
3 Falkirk 2 2 6
4 Rangers 2 1 4
5 Celtic 2 2 3
6 Kilmarnock 2 -2 3
7 Aberdeen 2 0 2
8 Dundee Utd 2 -1 1
9 Hibernian 2 -1 1
10 Inverness CT 2 -1 1
11 Dunfermline 2 -2 0
12 Motherwell 2 -3 0

Is this an exhibition table or has the league started for real now?

It is not given enough credit in my view this league would be as tough as any in europe although not for technical ability but for pace of the game and of course the rough style of play which Fifa loves so much many good players come and fail but some have the best time of their careers Laudrup,Gazza and larrson are a few

at the moment between 10th and 15th, its not very good at the moment, but like carb said in the past some of the best players in the world have graced the Scottish game.

i would say tenth because i would say after Spain, Italy, Germany, England(sadly) the leagues are more evenly matched with France,Holland,Portugal

so 10th looks good

However the one problem is that all these leagues seem to be improving in Europe and we haven't got that really, Last 16 in champions league is the best we've produced so far

That's why I think it is so important to develop players a home and not go around the world and poach players. If Scotland develops their home grown players, you see glory days return.
