Hats Off to Becks

I have to say, McLaren may have stepped into it right from the start. He will either be a hero or villanized by cutting Beckham. I for one have to question such a move. I don't care if they beat the Greeks as they has been little more than anemic in recent months. Becks can still contribute a great deal to this team.

Here to you Beckham, thanks for all the great football over the years (yes I know he's had blunders as well, but who doesn't?).

Beckham has single handedly(in my opinion) opened football to other markets, Asia for example has now developed into a Footballing power and David should be given credit for that, even if it all wasn't for his abilities as a footballer though. Nothing wrong with that just well marketed

I think hwe was a great player. He may not have been the best open field player, but he could receive and handle a ball while running, even high passes and some of his free kicks were legendary. I do agree he was marketed huge. He's a pretty boy and that helped. As one of my buddies said though, like Mike Tyson, he should have never opened his mouth in public and let everyone hear what a wussie voice he has. Sorry Becks, we still think you are great. Hail to Becks.

he should still be in the england team, mclaren the tosser is trying to make his mark on the england team by dropping one of there best players. hopefully the first of many mistakes by mclaren.

decent player...overrated for sure...no footspeed, no moves...no zidane or deco...i can see why he was cut....but he has one heck of a cross and is one of the best free-kickers around...
