This is a tough one. Ronaldinho is definately a candidate as he is so talented. Cannavaro is another with his rock solid defence and his crazy hops.

i have to agree that everyone is able to go off the boil, have a couple of bad games but to perform poorly in the highest stage for 5 games is a little bit shocking and i seem to remember him almost not playing in the CL final as well. However over the season he has deserved all the praise he has got

No disrepect intended, but the last WC showed the Chops to be boring, dirty and cheap. Too bad, as I liked them a great deal before the tournament. Defensive is fine, as long as you don't claim to be all out attacking. Really sad. Maybe they had one bad tournament, but I won't put any Port player on the list. I want to put Messi and Eto'o there though. Funny, both are Barca players.

there is not many players that played well in the world cup, so we shouldn't really judge a whole seasons performance on about 4-5 games
