Panathinaikos beat Metalurg Away 0-1

Panathinaikos in the first European match under manager Jasminko Velic, spared themselves embarassment after securing an away win in Ukraine over Zaporizhiya to move on to the group stage in the Uefa Cup.

Dimitrios Papadopoulos scored in the 14th minute to put them in front. The Metalurg hosts could not find an equalizer that would have sent the tie to extra time.

Panathinaikos advance 2-1 on aggregate.

Besides the win, in this game we played terrible. This is NOT Panathinaikos. The lack of good physical condition is obvious. This was the reason Backe was sacked and this is still the main problem of our team. The new coach, whoever it is going to be, will have work really hard.
