What should I do for my Euro 2008 Pool?

I am in a soccer pool for EURO 2008, in which I have to predict the winners and the leading scorer. I know a bit about soccer; who the best teams are, and some of the best players. Although, with a few grand riding on the pool I wouldn't mind getting some other peoples opinions. For our pool the teams are grouped according to world rankings, not the actual groupings. So I have to choose one of the four in each group.

Group A:
Italy
Spain
Germany
Czech Republic

Group B:
France
Greece
Portugal
Netherlands

Group C:
Romania
Croatia
Sweden
Turkey

Group D:
Russia
Austria
Switzerland
Poland

I personally think Germany will win it all, but Italy does play a real solid defensive system. I also have been hearing a lot of good things about Netherlands.

I also have to pick one player, where you get points off goals, but lose them on red or yellow cards. Klose was amazing in the World Cup, but everyone knows how many goals Ronaldo puts up for Portugal.

So, what would be the best picks?

Go with Netherlands for everything and Austria for nothing.

Group A:
I hate to say this, but I have to go with Italy

Group B:
No more upsets for Greece. I'm going with France.

Group C:
This is kind of like a group of death except it's all the teams that aren't really good they're just competitive. I'm going with Sweden.

Group D:
Switzerland, though Poland could put up a good fight.

The one player? Go with Klose because he has a better supporting cast that will take him farther into the tournament, giving him more points.
