Braveheart is the mostly inaccurate but fuck scots still are proud of it lol, so im sure we can be proud of films in greece too if they show a good light on us.

This movie, as I understand it, is more historically acfcurate than Braveheart. I do have to agree with you Stevo, that Braveheart movie was sick. I LOVED IT.

I just hope it is not going to be another washout of Greek history like Troy or Alexander. I have an optimism that it is not going to be.

I'm stoked at this. Hopefully it rivals Gladiator. The Roman flick was way superiror to the Greek movies Alexander and Troy. They had their moments, but fell short.

Troy was an historical interpretation of the Iliad. If you take it for what it was it was okay. The acting was good as were the battle scenes, particularly Hector's and Achilles' fight.
Alexander on the other hand was historically as close to being accurate as you can make it in a movie but the acting was brutal. The focus of the film was anywhere but on Alexander's achievements. I've been very critical of the film and Stone's direction of it on all sorts of forums and in the online magazine listed below.
300 Spartans will be a cartoonists interpretation of Thermopylae. Nevertheless from the teasers it looks spectacular! Don't worry about historical accuracy, enjoy it as a celebration of one of the most heroic acts in battle history.
