Which MLS Team should I see play?

I've decided that I'm going to go see an MLS game (my first pro soccer game ever) just to see how it is. I've never even watched an MLS game on TV, although I do follow European soccer pretty closely (Liverpool fan). I live in NY, so I'm going to see a Red Bulls game, but who should I see them play?

I can see them play the Galaxy, Barcelona, DC United, Toronto, or maybe Houston (if I'm still home then).

Barcelona sounds good, but I'm afraid that they will put out a third string squad, and the game will be boring. So, I'll leave it up to you. Which matchup would be the most exciting to watch?

it woul dbe better to see dem against chicago fire but just go see them aainst galaxy...its da best match

I would go with either Houston (which are the current champions) or New England (which they are doing pretty good right now)

even when barca features their third strings they are still brca and you will still enjoy the game.i advise you to go for barca.

How about against Chivas USA?

Ahh i think you could watch New England Revelution play - they are pretty good.

Each game would be decent. But if you want a true MLS rivalry, go to the DC United game. As much as I hate both DC and NY, the rivalry between those two teams is very fun to watch. There will be lots of supporters from DC making the trip up I-95 to be at that game, which will make for a very intense battle. Really, this is the best game in NY every year. If you want to make it really fun, make sure you sit near some supporters sections as they are the loudest and most fun to be around. I would sit with the Empire Supporters Club in section 101 right behind the goal. But if you want t better view, go with seats close to The Raging Bull Nation in section 116. Have fun!!

I doubt NY will play a 3rd string squad against Barcelona. Because this is a big match for them to showcase their players against the world's best. If Osorio (NY's coach) doesn't at least play his starting 11 at some point in the match, he truly deserves to be fired for his incompetence. And Barcelona will play their stars because the whole reason they are coming over is to get their players in shape for the season. They might not play them the whole game, but they will definitely play.

(Edit Later) - The Galaxy game is over-rated. The fad of David Beckham wore off fast last year. The fans at that game are usually not the vocal kind. Whenever LA comes to Salt Lake to play (I go to all the SL games) the extra fans who show up are all 13 year old girls and their moms' who get mad if you stand up to cheer for your team, or heckle the opposing team. If there is one game to miss, it is the LA game. All hype, no fun.
