Will David Beckham?s arrival to the MLS have any long-range impact on soccer in the

States? I don?t think so. After a couple weeks, the novelty will where off. Besides, Beckham?s on the downside of his career. He crossed the Atlantic to make some cash ? it?s no accident the league based him in L.A. to benefit him and his Posh wife.

The only impact his arrival will have is on all the girls and gay people who will want to see him not the game.

Beckham will interest people who are not into soccer, it will benefit the LA Galaxy and any team that plays them, but overall (unfortunately) Beckham will be passing phase in 1-2 years, just like Pele with the New York Cosmos. In the end I believe this might kill the MLS, just like it killed the North American Soccer League.

I think it will get people talking about it for a little while, but once the novelty of it wears off, people will feel about it the same way they did before he came here.

Real Salt Lake signs David Beckham!!!

Yeah, doesn't sound right.

He's played for the 2 biggest clubs in the world and now he's on a team named in reference to the starts in Hollywood. Fits. America loves Hollywood.

The novelty is not to attract 13 year old girls. It's to attract sponsers and new players.

Uhmm ya think

Beckham is one of the greatest players in England.

Well, that's the way they talk about him. I think it'll get

people interested to watch just to see him. Maybe after seeing one game, people well get hooked. You never really know. But I do think it well help MLS in a big way.
