Will the MLS shake off it's kiddy image and try to become a real league? By this i mean, getting rid of the kiddy team names(Galaxy, Revolution, Crew), colors ect..Don't you think the world would respect the league more and take it more seriously, and maybe better players would come to it if it was more professional sounding/looking?

The team names, and stadiums must be changed to something to do with the city/place of club and their culture. The fans are the worst though. Sitting all game and cheering with typical North American chants is embarrassing, but I hear their are a few ultras coming through now

I certainly hope so. I've made this same complaint myself repeatedly: MLS cannot expect fans to take its league as seriously as fans outside the US view their clubs until it learns to take itself seriously.

Honestly, the league needs to be re-launched. New Branding. New media campaign. Everything.

And it's not as though doing so will alienate a large fan base. MLS is about as popular, if not less popular, than the NHL.

Well when you look at the colors and uniforms from Europe they too look rather cartoony...and funky with the advertisements sewn right smack on the thing....and if the MLS is trying to model from European and the rest of the world leagues it'll be tough to shake.

The names kinda remind me of something from the X-games, I'm not a soccer fan at all but I do find it difficult get into soccer with such a cartoony image.....that and it take half an hour to get the ball in to one end of the field.

EXCUSE ME?!?!?!!?!

The MLS does NOT have a 'kiddie' image!!! Everyone SHOULD take the league seriously because it is the fastest growing of anywhere! It IS a real league! Just go watch a DC match at RFK and you'll take back everything you said! The passion in the MLS is as strong if not stronger than any other country no doubt. And almost all of it comes from perfectly mature people.

And by the way, seeing as youth is the future of football, trying to appeal to young people is just ensuring the future of football in the USA. So excuse us for simply strengthening the credibility of a sport that is well known and loved in our country and around the world.

It's ignorance like yours that diminishes the dignity of a perfectly fine league. It's passion like ours that strengthens the respect the MLS deserves.
