We were poor

Is it just me because I could find little to be positive about from the
Chelski game? Sure Kewell showed some flashes of skill (the reason we pay
him 60 grand a week), and Diouf worked his socks off.......but generally the
whole structure was a mess. These players are simply not able to play
together, full stop. Biscan, Murphy, Cheyrou, Kewell - a midfield with
nothing in common, and no understanding, Compare this to Arsenal/Man U,
everyone seems to run for each other with purpose, skill, style and grace.
Even Everton played like a well-oiled unit yesterday.

When the subs came on it was worse, players running around like headless
chickens. Were the hell was everyone playing? For example, Baros played as
if he was high on coke. I could not see how we could create anythink. We
seemed to rely on luck or mistakes to get any openings.

Kewell's role was so free that he was out of sync with the other players,
most of whom were still playing in the old Liverpool mode. Chelski were not
even that good, however they had that individual class when the
opportunities presented themselves.

My worry is that if we play on like this we will be bottom six material.
Today I was totally ashamed of this side. Cheyrou is 25 years old and if he
cannot cut it now let him go. He is a good player, but Liverpool and/or the
EPL is not for him. Biscan is so wooden I have no idea how he can expect to
be given regular role in centre of midfield?

Murphy is not in the class to compete with the ManU and Arsenals. We need a
couple of class midfielders. I would give Le Tallec his chance now. A new
centre back with pace is also needed.

Just my 2 cents worth

Laurie Ferns

Yes, but we should have adequate cover for them. Biscan and Cheyrou would
not even get into a pub side. Although they did try. It;s not their fault
that Houllier signed them. But they need to be given their P45's.

If we had played Chelsea later in the season instead of today we would have
been beaten out of sight. WE ARE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH. FULL STOP. And it
won't change under Houllier.

Adequate cover for both being out at the same time? One or the other we
could have coped, but both? How do you create appropriate cover for Steven
Gerrard and Didi Hamman? You can't.

We had 2 of the best midfielders in the premiership missing but the things you
mention , are things of attitude and theory and we are never going to play that
fast passing game like Real/Arsenal because our current manager doesn't believe
football should be played that way.

You won't get an argument from me there. I think Welsh would have been a
good influence in the midfield today.
