What pisses me off is the fact is it wasn't a dirty game and you get two
sendings off and flurry of yellows.

It's either a yellow card offence or not.

Personally. I thought it was and have no arguments.

Your opinion though, that it may not have been a yellow card
offence but 'cos he'd made a couple of challenges he deserved
it, doesn't wash.

A player can be booked for persistent fouling. You tend to notice it when a
player makes a cheap foul like LiTie's and the ref will then point to a
number of spots on the pitch.

But it's still got to be a yellow card offence.

As a rule of thumb, most Referees allow 3 or 4 fouls at the most before
disciplining a player for a culmination of minor offences. However, there is
nothing preventing the Referee cautioning a player for persistent
infringement for a second minor offence committed by the same player,
although this would be most unusual.

But it must be deemed a 'bookable' offence though huh? Surely he
can't book him for a 'looking like a fairy, who'd happened to
make a few questionable challenges earlier in the game'. Or can
he?

Yeah that's right. 3 or 4 bordlerline (i.e. questionable) yellows will
result in a booking, and the last offence (the one that puts the player into
the book) needed be a stick-on yellow either.

Mate's a ref (making his way up the Kent League)!
