Ipswich manager Joe Royle may seek a loan deal for Liverpool striker Neil
Mellor if he suffers an injury crisis next season.
The 20-year-old made his professional debut against Town in a League Cup tie
last season and scored his first goal for Liverpool in the semi-finals of
the same competition.
Royle is not currently looking to improve his strikeforce, but insists he
will keep an eye on Mellor with a view to bringing him to Portman Road.
He told the Evening Star: "Neil is a very promising player and if we had to
look for a loan striker he would definitely fit the bill.
"It's not a position where we need strengthening at the moment but I like
Mellor. He's one I would consider if I had to."
