What is your take on the violance at Manchester with the Rangers fans?

My husband was there and from hearing from him and reading the news coverage I think that it was a combination of an organised attack with other football casuals and also lack of planning within Manchester.

I am especially keen to hear from people who live in the city and were observing.

I was in Manchester and saw no violence either before of after the game. This is not to deny that there was trouble but the extent of it has been grossly overstated.

I also think that some of the problems were down to a combination of drink and heavy handed policing.

I cannot comment on other casuals but I do know of supporters of other Scottish teams who came down for the party.

hi i live in manchester why didnt the council put the big screen in a park that would make more sense, im all for people enjoying themselves but on a week day when ordinary people need to get to work and cant cos the buses and trams are down due to rangers fans pissed from morning..i blame the council they couldn'y organise a piss up in a brewery

Well all we hear down here is that Scottish football fans are the best in the world and it's the English who cause problems.
