Nasl

In tribute the the Whitecaps of old, I will state here, that soccer in North America has not been the same since the NASL folded. That Whitecaps team of old, especially the one that won the tile in 1979, could have won the EPL at that time. The Cosmos, were a team so full of stars, they could have dominated amny Euro leagues.

First of all Whitecap (which I imaigine is what your old arse looks like on top) try and spell acronyms properly, it is NASL, not Nasl, and tell people who were not in the Jurassic era what it stands for. The North American Soccer League was a Mickey Mouse pasture for old goats waiting to be shot. Ironically, the artificial turf they played on sped up the process tremendously. As for the Whitecaps winning the EPL, hahahaha, nice try. Sure they had many players in the EPL at the time palying on loan, but the North American player rule killed them. DO you think Bobby Lenarduzzi and Buzz Parsons could run with the boys in England. Lenaduzzi tried over there and failed. THen he came here and has plagued Canadian soccer ever since. As for the Cosmos, they were full of stars for suire, but again, do you know what a soccers players prime years are? Let me tell you, it wasn't the Cosmos players.

Let me respond dumb ass, I did spell NASL, Nasl, but the coputer read it the latter way so deal with it. No wonder Zidane hit you, you are an infuriating punk. As for old goats, don't get excited when you roam the hills of Italy with your buddy Materazzi as the goats are they way you must enjoy your spring break. The NASL still had players who could play. I tell you now, the COsmos were arguably the most talented team int he world at the time. Carlos Alberto, JOhan Neskens, Frans Beckenbauer, to name a rew. That was 1979, Beckenbauer won the WC in 1974, your math dumbass? As for the turg, I agree, it is shit. I don't get why North America insists on killing its athletes on it.

That was a quality league. When Warner Bros sold the Cosmos, it was the beginning of the end. THe say the league expanded to quick in the 70s as well. There was serious talent there. Cruyff, Georgie Best, Pele, Beckenbauser, Carlos Alberto, Neskens, Ruud Krol, Alan Ball, Will Johnston, etc............. The list goes on and is a serious one. Whitecaps, I'm with you. Materazzi, you have points, but you need to mellow out dude.

Boo hoo Greek, but I do like SLayer. As for the NASL again, it sucked, I know many disagree, but it was North America played in empty football stadiums. How good could tha have been?

Slayer, take it easy. THe league did not suck, but it did have its problems. Listen, some of the stadiums were empty, what about the stadiums that were full? The COsmos were New York's hottest ticket at the time. Don't forget the good things as well. They weren't a total bust. TOo bad they couldn't work out their problems as I saw good things with it. The next step was to develop local players.

Dude, settle down. That type of attitude has no place here.

As for the NASL, i disagree with you. It was a good league. I can a look at rosters from many of the teams and I am impressed. Did you know Cruyff played for the LA Aztecs and Georgie Best for the SAn JOse Earthquakes? Save your breathe SLayer, Iknow Best was an alcoholic, but some respect for th deceased. As for his play, he was a freak of nature, andI say that with repect, he could slay your sorry ass hung over.
