Nike Buys Out Umbro

Nike has acquired Umbro which was the sponsor of England's national football team.
Nike reached an agreement for the purchase of the British company for 285 million points, equal to 580 million dollars.

With this move, Nike improves its position in football wear, however the outlook is not that rosy.

In fact, Umbro had in the past announced a fall in the sale of England jerseys which may worsen were England not to qualify for the European Championship.

Wow. Big news.
Hopefully Umbro continues to run fully independently. It's nice to have competition in the football boots and clothing market.
