?!?!??!?!?!? Man United or Overdraft United as Manx Gunner hilariously
called them are over €1 billion in debt. Milan are at most €40 million
in debt.

The subject :

What do you currently regard as the 2 greatest soccer clubs ?

Implies from a historical perspective.

Real Madrid, Milan, Bayern and Ajax are historically greater clubs than
United because of what they achieved internationally, the legendary
players that have worn their shirts and because of the tactical impact
of the coaches of Ajax and Milan.

They're two different competitions and a European Cup would still,
rightly, carry more weight under any criteria. The European Cup defines
the legends of this sport. Domestic football doesn't. As far as Italy is
concerned first we have to determine how many of Juve's titles are
actually legit.

Only you introduced the concept of "biggest" or bigger.

I don't think Liverpool is among the top two internationally, but they
are certainly the greatest historically in England.

If the question were about hockey, or baseball, nobody would have any
hesitation in naming Montreal and the Yankees, as the greatest
historically, in spite of the fact the Habs have limited spending power
and have not won a Stanley cup since 1993.

Greatest in history ? Real Madrid and one of Boca Juniors, River Plate,
Bayern, Juventus or Milan.

Don't know how to rank the Argentinians - River has more championships,
but with the two per year, how do you weight those ? - Boca has more
Libertadores. Also Juve has far more Scudetti than Milan, but fewer
European Cups.

Milan and Boca for the most number of International trophies won as
well as being old and current powerhouses of their domestic domain. I
also regard a club's alumni when I think of greatest clubs, and on
that account Real Madrid (and even Barcelona) would get a look in.
