The best word I can use to describe Villa is "solid". Well coached,
well organized, and some quality players....but I think O'Neill has
taken them about as far as they can go on their current budget.
Despite all the naysayers I dont think they'll replace Arsenal in the
top 4. Rather, they'll be like the Spurs and Everton of recent years
just hovering around 5th. If anyone will dislodge Arsenal it'll be Man
City.

One more thing I'd like to add, in some phases of the 2nd half against
ManU today they went into complete catenaccio mode, just booting the
ball upfield out of fear. Chelsea, Liverpool, or Arsenal would NEVER
do that at home with the scores even....just went on to show that
Villa is still a long way from being in that class.

They are young, very well coached and playing as well as anyone in the
league right now, but I agree they don't have the depth at this point
to sustain a challenge into the top four. Even if they stayed healthy
all year the heavy winter grounds will take their toll on such a
limited squad. Still, fantastic job by O'Neil!

When's the last time that the top three teams all failed to score on
the same weekend?

With Keane continuing to do nothing, I am beginning to feel that we'd
get better results if we put Kuyt up front and played Benayoun or
Babel on the right. At least we'd get more creativity.

Last week Villa showed they are in the class of at least Arsenal.

They lack creativity in the final third. The ability of A. Young and
Agbonlahor covers a lot of that up, but I think it will be hard for them
to break down really good defenses. The contrast was especially
noticeable with United. (A little unfair since ManU have a pretty
exceptional bunch of offensive minded players, CRon, Giggs, Tevez,
Rooney.) Other than that though, I think Villa is very solid. Barry
looked really, really sharp.
