R.I.P Arsenal & Wenger

1996 - 2008.

It was a good run while it lasted boys: 3 EPLs, 3 FA Cups, but it's all
over now.

Arsenal - the end of a once great football club who used to win trophies.
Wenger - a good manager who will be remembered as going on way past his
sell by date.

It's sad but that's the way football goes. Time for Arsenal to make way for
up and coming teams like Spurs and Everton.

An exit out of the top 4 is inevitable for Arsenal next season.

i reckon that this time Arsenal and their manager really are finished.
they haven't won a trophy in 3 years, which is the longest barren run
since Wenger took over, and the signs are that the decline is
permanent and the best they can hope for is an FA Cup win. EPL and UCL
are way beyond them, they are no-where near good enough to win the big
ones.

damn thing ever again.

Sure thing, Spuds.

Shouldn't you be off to write another rant about George W. Bush?

I wouldn't be so quick to write them/him off. He's a couple of signings away
from a great side. But we will stay a couple of steps ahead, I trust.

They would be mad to get rid of him, though. Few managers in the game could
spend what little he has and challenge for a title down to the last few
games with teams that have spent far more. And believe me, it really does
pain me to pay him this compliment....I honestly can't stand the man. I
simply refuse to let bias stand in the way of rational judgement.

They can play some really nice football (when they don't cheat). Their main
problem is letting it get to them when a bad game comes along - they fall to
bits and drop points in the following games. It is a psychological problem
and one they need to work through if they want to win silverware again.

Oh, and they *really* need a decent skipper. Gallas couldn't captain a bath
toy boat.
