Quoting Ingemar in rec.sport.soccer:

The risk is that the Djurgården players' drinking buddies in BP (there are
a few...) will be more soft than ever on Sunday... They're out (in
practice) as you said. Djurgården will win BIG, that's for sure. IFK
Göteborg won't have it as easy against Trelleborg. Actually, I think
Djurgården is in the driver's seat, strangely enough.

Prediction:

Djurgården - BP 8-0(4-0)
IFK Göteborg - Trelleborg 3-1(1-0)
Kalmar FF - AIK 1-5(1-1)

Congrats Djurgården.

Has something like that ever happened in Sweden?

It has in the Bundesliga in 1977/78 when Gladbach beat Dortmund _12_-0,
but the other contender scored just enough themselves to defend the top
spot.

And that's not all. The legitimacy of the goal was questioned, to say the
least. Everybody, but FIFA, wants goal cameras...

Quoting Sven Mischkies in rec.sport.soccer:

There have been questionable cases. But it IS difficult to tell whether a
team actually do it on purpose, or just don't cant't be bothered.

Once, Hammarby needed a big win away at Karlstad in the last round in order
to advance to Allsvenskan. When the overtime started, and the "other game"
already was finished, Hammarby still needed 2-3 goals or so... and got
them... Hmm...

Also, in 1983 (I think), lower in the league system, my own team, BBK,
needed a big win in the last round against local rivals Hornskroken, the
match ended 9-1... Now, that one is a tough call. BBK and "Kroken" really
were Rivals. Though from the same city. I saw the game. To me it just
looked like the "Kroken" players had motivation problems (I don't remember
their league position, but I think they were already out, relegated). The
"other team", weren't as sure as I am.

Would Inter fold to Milan? Would Arsenal fold to Chelsea? Would City fold
to United? Would Atletic fold to Real?

Someone said (Ingemar? mof?) that IFK Göteborg-Trelleborg won't be sold out
(~43000). Well... Today the club reports 40706 tickets sold in advance so
far.

It was Ingemar. 40706 is the present capacity. They have added some
more posh areas in resent years.

SPOILERWARNING: Below results from shortly before FT today.

Well, you were right about an 8-0 it seems, but got the wrong game. BP
with a 0-1 away win - that is a bit of a surprise.

Both won - barring a miracle IFK champions with only a few mins to go.
))

Congrats, mof.

Indeed!

BTW: IFK stacked 14 games in a row without a loss.
