I'm reading mutterings that he's unhappy without Mourinho.

No doubt if the rumor is true, he'll be linked with the usual suspects
(Milan, Real, Inter, Barca), but can Juve afford him?

In an interview he has given to France Football magazine (to be
published tomorrow) he said:

"I want to leave Chelsea. Something is broken with Chelsea,"

"The damage is big in the dressing room."

"Nothing can stop me from leaving now,"

"Since the day I arrived, I wanted to leave Chelsea and then again
every summer,"

"I know that Ronaldinho and Kaka are linked to come next season but
even that won't change my mind."

Juve won't make a move unless they qualify for the Champions League. Barca
have curbed their spending in recent years as well.

He wants to play in Milan-- for Inter or Milan... not Juve.

Barca just picked up Abidal, Milito, Touré and Henry. While I don't know
what the combined cost was, it doesn't look like curbing spending to me.

Barca recent buys:

2003 Ronaldinho, Saviola (? - or was he before), Marquez, Rustu ?
Quaresma ? Riquelme ? -my memory is failing me here.
2004 Deco, Eto'o, Giuly, Van Bommel, Edmilson ?
2005 Larsson, Ezquerro
2006 Gudjonssen, Thuram, Zambrotta
2007 Abidal, Milito, Henry, Touré

Looks to me as though this was their biggest year in a while in terms of
significance of new players, if not of cost.

Milan probably needs him the most out of those teams.
Liverpool could use him, as could Man Utd.

The team with the biggest need, though maybe not the budget, might be
Sevilla.

English teams usually don't sell key players to rivals.

It happens freely in Italy, Spain and Germany though.

Yes, he'd be great alongside Torres or Tevez/Rooney.

This seems to be true recently, but wasn't always the case. Of course
the league wasn't so stratified 15 or 20 years ago.

Still we recently had Cole and Gallas switching teams, and Arsenal
picking up Diarra from Chelsea, so it is not unprecedented, even now.

Then there was Carrick moving from almost-4th place Spurs to Man Utd.
