South Africa international McCarthy believes there is more still to come. "The people that doubted this team and underestimated their potential and quality are now beginning to see the real Blackburn."


"We are definitely a top 10 team that is capable of beating anybody they want to if we play the football that we know we can - I think on Saturday we are going to show that."


McCarthy's own form has mirrored Blackburn's progress, with the striker having netted five times in nine appearances since moving from Porto last summer. "We are going to show the Premier League, show England, show everybody, that Blackburn is not a team to make up the numbers," added the 28-year-old. "We should be second, third, or fourth in this league."
