I totally agree with you ,but i don't think he'd win the pie eating contest he'd start off well then find out someone's getting more money that him so start to cry and moan saying "i want to win the pie eating comp IF they could sort out my contract(money) ,

Yes he is overrated. Of course he is given a lot of goal scoring opportunities when he plays for Chelsea, but when he plays for England he never scores and rarely performs at his club level.

What is his rating or how are we to measure it - until we know that we cannot answer as you cannot be under or over anything unless we know what the standard is. Perhaps you may say "Is he a worthy England International player" but then what is worthy? Would the majority of football fans select him for England but what does that say about the rest of the team? However it does seem to me that he is praised too highly as he lacks flair.

I agree he is ridiculuously overrated though. I think he is carried by his Chelski team mates at times; notice how he was fairly average until Abramovich's billions and world-class players arrived? This is why he has been found out whilst playing for England, who do not have the same wealth of talent and require every man to work for the team, somethin Lampard is incapable of doing, especially while playing in the same midfield as Gerrard, and is probably why he hasn't had a good game for England since... I can't remember. McClown won't drop him because of his "reputation" though...
