When Arsene Wenger allowed Thierry henry to move to Barcelona recently, did he know

something we don't? Wenger is a very shrewd man when it comes to players, maybe he saw or knew something about Henry that we didn't.

i always thought they would cash in this season and i dont think wenger saw much different from what the world did. terry enree is one of the greats, but he missed so much of last season and when he was there, he just wasn't his old self. his game relies on pace and that gets harder and harder as he gets older, so unless he adapts he will struggle.

an unhappy player wont help his team. it is often best to let a player go if the player wishes to leave, otherwise he wont put forth his best during games.































henry has always wanted to play for barca and has been looking to make the move for the last couple years i think.































also, henry was really the saving grace for the team. it must be frustrating for henry to constantly have to carry the rest of the team.































lastly, think of the money arsene got with that sale. he can take that and invest in a better team for the future.

i think wenger is leaving after the season..and arsenal will rebuild their club and they thought thierry henry is not part of it anymore, so they sold them to barca. i am not a big fan of arsenal but i really enjoy its style of football and i feel sad that they won't be contenders anymore.. i like wenger to go to chelsea..chelsea is my team and they will win the premiership next season..sorry man u fans

I don't think there's any great secret here.































Henry's now 29 and has arguably now had his best seasons so it makes sense to sell while he's still got a marketable value.































It is proven that unhappy players don't perform as well. Look at Van Nistelrooy in his last season at Man Utd.































If a player wants to go you can't stop him. Of course you can legally but there's little point in paying a player to perform half-heartedly.































I think Henry himself realised that Arsenal would struggle to finish in the top 4 this season - they're still a great team but it's not guaranteed any more with sides like Liverpool and Spurs steadily improving year on year. Playing in the Champions League is crucial for A-list players.































Barcelona also offers much more - a realistic title challenge, a Champions League challenge, playing along side Ronaldinho, Messi, etc - who can Arsenal boast now? Only Fabregas.































I think it's a good deal for everyone involved.
