I'm quite anxious about a vaginal delivery. Is a Caesarean the better option?

I had a c-section, and I totally recommend it. Yeah it hurts for a couple weeks, but your vagina doesn't get ripped open. I was in and out of surgery in 20 minutes. Another plus, your vagina doesn't get all "loosey goosey" HAHA

I guess the bright side to have a c-section is it's quite shorter as far as delivery, but in the long run you'll be in more pain from recovery. It's a major surgery. Walking will hurt, and when your trying to take care of a newborn, it'll put a lot of stress on your body. What about getting an epidural or another type of pain medicine?? If you read about women who have had c-sections the first time, most want to have a vaginal birth for their second. Good luck!

I also have a low pain threshold and have given birth vaginally twice. A C-section is major surgery and the recovery is much more painful. Think about it~ they cut into your muscles. You will take about 6 weeks to recover from a C-section. With my vaginal deliveries, I felt "normal" after a week or so. With modern medicine, there's no reason for birth to be very painful. An epidural really does help. Just remember that women have done this for millions of years and if it really were that bad, the human race would have died off ages ago. Trust me, if I can handle it at 17, you'll be just fine. You've just got to have more confidence in your self and your body. Research vaginal deliveries as much as you can so that you are prepared for the big day. Also, remember to have a good supporter in the room with you. Good luck!

i have to say i have quite the issue with csection when there is no medical reason for it other than your worried about pain or tearing. your body is built for it, also most drs wont let you tear, they usually give you an episiotomy [cut you so you dont tear] why have major surgery when you can have it naturally & have less recovery time. i was in labor for 34 hrs with my daughter & delivered her with no drugs at all- eventually you get numb to the pain & there is no better feeling then knowing you just delivered your baby with no help of drugs- women do it all the time. and who cares what victoria beckham thinks of them- is she carrying your baby?

normal vaginal is the best, i had a c section 4 yrs ago and it still hurts sometimes when its cold or when am on my p's. and the scar lasts forever, with normal delivery only a few weeks and you are fine, if you feel loose down there you can always do the kegel excersices and that will sort out the issue

we do not see Victoria beckham when she at home screaming out in pain after having the surgery, plus she can afford the best after care... vaginal is better, and you can have an epidural which cuts out most of the pain.. its natural to worry about the pain, but once you give birth its more or less over apart from maybe the after pains as your womb shrinks back.. but with a Cesarean you have to deal with the pain of your major surgery healing and after pains, and you may need help lifting your baby as well. its a personal choice, so make the decision based on whats better for you. good luck
