I'm quite anxious about a vaginal delivery. Is a Caesarean the better option?

I have a very hard time understanding why a woman would subject themselves to the horror of major surgery over the pain of a natural birth. Giving birth shouldn't be looked at as an advancement in medical procedures but a rights of passage with the most beautiful goal in the end. Sure, a Doctor can easily cut you open, but you will be the one putting yourself back together again (when you have a vaginal delivery, your body is doing what it needs to do, and knows how to heal itself). Sterile rooms, knives, needles, forced on your back, your stomach cut open to have your baby pulled out of you, your baby taken from you, having cloth shoved in you to soak up all the bleeding, stitches everywhere, risks of infection, all risks associated with MAJOR surgery. I'm sure women haven?t always thought this was LESS painful. Delivery should be a little more natural, I'm all about home births, and agree more with medicated hospital births over a caesarean. How does your partner feel about this? Forced to watch you get your abdomen pulled apart so he can see his baby? No touching, no holding you, no bonding, nothing but a video camera and his partner in another drugged world. Something doesn't sound like a perfect happy family from the beginning to me. Mind you, should someone NEED a caesarean, please ignore the above because it is a mater of NEED, and medical advancement has given us this privilege to a safer delivery than one without medical intervention on the basis of NEED. Please don't have a drugged baby.

My first was vaginal....though it was atrociously painful....I want to go for the same this time (32 wks) you know what. I really felt absolutely nothing after a week of my delivary....eat high nutrient food which can give back the strength of your spine...you will be alright....other than the stretch marks, you would feel nothing odd on your tummy....hmmm...even they fade..... :-)

I would have a vaginal over C-section any day. I had a vaginal with my son and plan on having a vaginal with my girl when she is born. Plus, it takes longer to recover with a C-section. My vagina is not much looser than it was before I had my son. If you do your kegel exercises, it helps. That's what I did.
