EURO more competitve overall than WC

This will cause debate, but overall most would agree. ALthough great teams are missing, overall the EURO is a more competitve tournament than the WOrld CUp. The reasons are quite simple. Less teams make it from the world's toughest governing regional body, UEFA. YOu don't get the weak teams from certain regions of the planet. Even the weaker teams at the EURO are highly competitve.

There is little room for debate there. Even with Argentina and Brazil missing, it is a better more highly competitive tournament.

I agree completely, the EURO is more competitve, especially at the early stages. BY the late stages, it starts to cancel out.

no team in Europe is now weak, they are all capable of shocks, Greece and Latvia for example. The Champions league has improved all these teams quality and now players from "smaller countries" or "weaker countries" have players in top divisons Hleb and Shevchenko come to mind

It might just very well be. Didn't we do a great job putting the show on in 2004?

Little doubt this is true, but still, I miss Brazil and Argentina. That is why the WC is so special as well.

Euro is more competitive. In Euro you have 16 teams. 10 of them are great powers. In the WC you have 32 teams and the only powers except the European sides are Brazil and Argentina.

However, the positive of the WC is that it brings in contact people from different cultures, religions etc., a feeling not which is not that strong in the Euro.
