England and Scotland to miss out on Euro 2008, Agree or Disagree?

I honestly feel that Scotland will be unable to defeat Italy at Hampden Park.

They have put in a remarkable performance, but their qualification does not really hinge on defeating Italy, but rather whether Ukraine can defeat France, and the Scots drawing with Italy.
It will be a mountain too high for the Scots.

England's case hinges entirely on Israel. If the Israelis play their usual defensive game, the Russians might not be able to win. A draw would put England back in the drivers seat, with victory over Croatia sending them through.
Defeating Croatia who would already qualified (with a draw in Macedonia enough to send them through), is obtainable for the English, but the question is whether Israel would be bothered to offer the Russians a stern resistance.

I doubt it, a narrow Russian victory looks more likely, given the higher motivation they will have.

Appalling as it maybe to some, I'm predicting that all Home Nations would not have representation next year.

I hope you are wrong for England's sake.
I believe Israel will get a point at home to Russia; not because I think they may want to aid the English but more because they are very proud people. there is a bit of an east meets west thing here too, not geographically but politically.
This may or may not give Israel a little extra incentive. it could be just wishful thinking on my part.

I would like to see Scotland qualify but I expect they will need a win against Italy at Hampden Park and I think this would prove to be their downfall. I hope not.

I think Israel has already beat Russia so it is possible England can still qualify. I doubt Croatia can beat England again. As for Scotland I still cannot believe they lost to Georgia, they could have knocked out the Italians and went thru themselves. If Mcfadden has his best game maybe they can still pull it off. So in conclusion I say yes to England No to Scotland.

Well, this might sound crazy, but im half glad Georgia beat us...

If we were to go into the Italy game needing a draw, we just simply wouldn't manage. Whereas going for a win might just work out in our favour. Trust me, i've been to Hampden on the best and worst days... and not team finds it easy to get a result there. For me its too close to call. If the Italian underestimate us... then they are in for a shock. Even if we do not qualify it has been one hell of a campaign, and you can't take anything away from Scotland. We are the 4th seeded team in our group. With France, Italy and Ukraine all present we really shouldn't have had a chance. However, never say never, Scotland can do it... footballs a funny old game ;-)

I would like to see Scotland pull a big upset and get in there ahead of France or Italy.

Then again it's also nice to have all the "big guns" at the tournament.

I hope England don't qualify, because i think thats the only way for a new coach to come in for them...unfortunately... none of there players are paying attention to him and his system is crap...
