it does not matter now as ENGLAND is likely to struggle yet again in the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

i don't think an easier group or a tougher group would make a difference to the english team. if the new manager doesn't do a thing to change the team, they won't make it to WC2010 even if they are in a easier group than their euro 2008 group. if they make the right adjustment to the team, i think they can beat even the quality teams as france or italy.

with the current squad they have right now, they won't be very competitive even if they make it to WC2010.

somehow england dropped points against the all mighty FYROM. that is pathetic. england did not have a difficult group and croatia should have been the only group that posed a threat.

its just that the manager issues with mclarren playing the big names rather than the better players.

I'd like to see them draw Italy, France, & Ukraine just like Scotland had in their Euro Qualifying group to see how they would do.

Looking for an easy draw is a cop-out. When you can't beat the likes of Israel & Macedonia with regularity, then maybe you should be looking for an "easy" draw.

The Euro08 group for England is definitely an easy one. I just don't know why they can't qualify after they've given a chance. 1 point could guarantee a place but why did SM plays that way? He could've put 5 defenders and get the 1 point. The other groups in Euro08 have tougher opponents compare to England's. As for the WorldCup, most of the teams are stronger because they have to be top then only can qualify. Whoever the opponents are, England will still have problems because of the... management? or players?
