English Football, not really English?

The Mens Premier League is full of players from different countrys, only the bottom half of the league has mostly english starters. I think Arsenals only english men may be Theo Wolcott, along with Chelsea, Liverpool and Man U. All of those add up to about 8 english guys. It just seems less and less English guys take the field each day in the Premier League.

The League was talking about cutting down on foreign players, what do you think about it?

well 43 players have gone to the Euros out of the top 4 clubs in our prem league the most is 8 from Chelsea so yeah we sure do have alot of players from other countrys.
I dont think the F.A will alow player capping but personally i would like to see it , is our current poor England team form a knock on effect of foreign players or is it theres not enough youth acadamys to bring up young players surely it would be cheaper than a XXX million quid foreign star ????

I think that the BPL is the best league in the world at this time. That being said I think the best players in the world should be allowed to play there without restriction. Plus I think to not allow someone to play because of where they are from or put a quota on "home grown talent" is descrimination.

I do not think it was the League that wanted to cut down the foreign players but the President of FIFA.

If managers lose a couple of games they get the sack. There is too much money involved now. They can't afford to take time to 'blood' young players. The top clubs feel they only have the option of sending out 11 finished articles, or risk failure. Same with managers. Does anyone believe Alex Ferguson would get the Man U. job today? From Aberdeen?!? No chance. Because the lower teams have more English players, that does not mean English players are of a lower standard, it means clubs like Fulham can't afford the best of the best (English or foreign) so are more prepared to take a chance on younger players, which, as they are an English club, are, more often than not, English!

I can't wait for the FIFA limit to come in. I hate Scudamore and the Premier League greed barons. 39th Game??? Showcase our 'product? WTF? They care zero for the game in this country. They care 100% for their own, already bulging wallets!

What the Hell is the 'BPL'? If you mean the EPL, you are obviously foreign yourself and I would imagine that means you don't give two hoots for the health of English football.

I think Latin players are the best:
Cristiano Ronaldo, Fernando Torres, Carlos Tevez, Nani, Anderson etc. England doesn't have too much talent, without your foreign players you would have a poor league.

Well even FIFA see it as an issue. Blatter on his recent trip to Australia stated that FIFA's legal team have already been looking at ways to impose some form of minumim local or maximum import players for clubs.

The problem is the EU labour laws do not currently allow it.

Blatters opinion is over a period of years the starting 11 should contain a minimum of 6 players born in the same country as the club plays.

I hope FIFA stand their ground but you can already see the likes of MAN U, Chelsea, Madrid etc fighting it, if not openly, behind the scenes so they dont lose the advantage they built up over the past 20 years.

It would I think have a dramatic effect on the value of players from certain nations also.
