It just seems unfair that only clubs with money can win. Even when the money wasn't earned through football!! (chelsea for example). It makes it impossible for some teams to get better.

This would ensure more competition. What do you think?

Not quite, because than the richer teams would get the better deals and players. Also players would aim towards the top teams

No.

In the United States, sports clubs do not have youth academies to grow talent; thus, the draft exists to pick out talent from universities or high schools.

In the footballing world (not just the UK), teams have youth academies to breed future talent. Some teams get luckier with their youngster choices and the loyalty of their proteges. You'll have your Wayne Rooneys (left Everton, his youth academy and first-team club, for Manchester United and $$$) and Gary Neville/Paul Scholes (joined Manchester United as youngsters in their academies, most likely retiring as Reds).

No, like the other guys said, the draft system only really works in the United States, even the MLS. Where a majority of teams will get there top players from collegiate athletes, or in the case of the MLS the National Soccer Academies. Some teams have started academies but in most cases those are too small or too new to have made any impact within the teams.

Although the draft has been proven to help provide more balanced teams and no super teams in most US Sports.
