| Ronaldo leaving The Scum Let's be honest, it's about as predictable as fuck. Probably the most predictable thing ever. Someone should invent a new word to describe the utter predictability of such a thing. It's as predictable as Richard Branson's balloon flying into a mountain; as predictable as Dwain Chambers winning a 100 metres race against a bunch of thalidomides; as predictable as Mike Tyson beating a four-year-old child. Almost as predictable as flowers suddenly sprouting up a lamp-post in Norris Green after little Jamie's latest twocking escapade went tits up in the wee small hours. And when he's gone...hehehe...cue the Scummers as they rally as one man with cries of: "Well, he never was any good, really." You know, like the Everton fans when Rooney left, when they were saying he wasn't all that promising. Alright, so the Everton fans were right, as it happens; but you know what I mean. It'll be the same with the Red Whingers when Torres fucks off. At the moment it's all "Torres, the best player in Europe. Best striker we've ever had at the club since Rushie." But see when he fucks off (and it is "when" rather than "if"), it'll be: "He was alright, but not that good. Not a patch on [insert name of his Anfield successor]." It's all very sad and alarmingly symptomatic of the fleeting nature of today's version of the once Beautiful Game. Players come and go, do the business for the highest amount of money, then bugger off somewhere else. There is no longer any loyalty, and why should there be? Of course, there will be those out there who say: "'Twas ever thus." Not so, I'm afraid. Ronaldo will look for the biggest pay deal he can lay his grabbing hands on, with scant regard for sentiment or loyalty of any description. But he is not alone in today's game. That's the saddest part. Still, it is very, very funny watching the Red Trash whinge and whine and spit out their collective dummy. |

He had his testimonial at the weekend. Remember testimonials? Old Trafford is usually the only place you can watch them these days. We have loyal players coming out of our fucking ears, mate. -- Slitheen. Manchester United - Back to Back Champions 2006/07, 2007/08 & Champions of Europe 2008. |
