They say that luck evens out over a season and it probably does to a
degree. All teams get massive strokes of good and bad fortune, but they
won't always be in games where it matters. Bad luck in a game where the
result really matters is not balanced by good fortune when it is not
really needed.
It is all part of the randon eliment in many results which will always
be part of football. Some might think that the 3pts for a win
exaggerates this luck eliment too much. There is a sort of logic to a
win being worth just twice as much as a draw as it was for over a
hundred years? Not sure myself, but the old system would cerainly have
led to an interesting run in. With two games to go before this past
weekend, the position would have been,

Chelsea 57pts
ManU 56 pts.
Arsenal 55 pts

Might not be £500m, but it's the thick end of £400m according to
Soccerbase.

That doesn't include signing-on bonus payments for one or two 'free'
transfers, either.

Whichever way you look at it, Chelsea have spent more money since the
2003/04 season than the rest of the top 4 combined.

wahay!
down £100m in 6 minutes!
lol

A team that, lost it's most successful manager, has only half a dozen
players on 25 appearances
this season due to unprecedented injuries including both goalkeepers. Lost
the other half of
the team to the African Nations Cup and yet *STILL* being level on points
with 'the greatest Man Utd team of
all time' or ' a team comparable to Brazil 1970'
I'd be embarrassed too in your position.
pmsl

Now how about we discuss that Nani incident? You know, the one you totally
ignored the other day.
lol

And a reserve squad that would qualify for Europe if you could field 2
teams in the league.

We've spent fuck all since the Glazers took over, yet have won one
league title, are going into the last day of the season with every
chance of winning another and are meeting your team of expensively
bought mercenaries in the final of the ECL.

A monkey could win the league with the resources thrown at Chelsea.

You mean the one where I started a thread entitled 'Nani, you twat' and
finished it with 'fucking idiot'?

The pressure is getting to you lot.

Mind you, it's the first time you've ever experienced a proper, close
title run-in and the addition of the ECL final has tipped you over the
edge.
