Steven Gerrard says he is "desperate" for Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry to join him at Liverpool.

Funny and how hypocritical can you get, its OK for Liverpool players (and I bet the scouse fans are not complaining) to try and poach away an Aston Villa player with 2 years more on contract to Villa, yet any talk about Torres leaving to Chelsea and they get all upset.

Simple if Barry leaves to go to Liverpool, Torres should move to a better club as well !!

It's all mind games. You got a point. But the difference is that Barry wants to leave Villa for a bigger club whereas Torres has not stated that he wants to leave. So Liverpool just sounded out that they are interested. You can't really fault Liverpool for doing that.
A player should only move if his desire to play for his present club has diminished. In this case, Barry has stated his desire to play for a bigger club....

heres my problem, i would like to see barry at liverpool because i don't rate him that highly, and really i hope chelsea do get torres, because last season they heavilly depended on him and if it wasn't for torres, the season ticket holders should have been given a refund. at least at chelsea he might have a chance to shine properly, thus giving us a proper race, from the start, and not depending on the odd dodgy decision or freak result.
