I think that Chelsea definitely needs a playmaker. Currently the squad lacks any creativity and Lampard is not a player that fits well.

- Schalke have been dealt a late blow with striker Kevin Kuranyi having to pull out of the original XI named by coach Mirko Slomka after aggravating a leg injury in the pre-match warm up. Kuranyi orginally sustained the problem in training yesterday but it was hoped he would recover in time, however Slomka said: 'We tried everything to get him fit in time but we saw in the warm up that he wouldn't make it.' Kuranyi has been replaced by Søren Larsen.
