fortunate and unfortunate? Is there any other players that are more unfortunate than Ballack? In 2002 he won the 'treble' with his club Leverkusen but all came in second. Then in the summer he also can be the runner up in the WC with Germany. He came to Chelsea to pursuade his dream of winning the CL, but the culture and injuries had thwarted him to perform to his best. Finally, he found his rhytym but once again he could only ended up being the 2nd best in 3 competitions, including Carling Cup. A repeat of the 2002 nightmare. Is there any teams that are more fortunate than ManUtd. Just take a look at the 1999 CL final and current CL final. In the 1999 final, they scored 2 goals in the last few minutes to overcame Bayern to win the cup. Then, Chelsea were the better team in this year final, even ManUtd fans also agree that. Drogba and Lampard score against the bar. Drogba got sent off and Terry's slip handed them the cup.

fortunate and unfortunate? The unfortunate events for Ballack only make him stronger & wiser in the football arena (I hope...). I believe his fellow German mate, Miroslav Klose also faces the same thing. The fortunate events for Man Utd, yes. They're one lucky team. But luck alone isn't enough. Man Utd has got some of the best players and the best manager around-- that contribute to the 'fortunate' of Man Utd.

fortunate and unfortunate? alchemist: its ironic that your avatar name is all about transmuting metals. you have taken a completely different way to look at it, and your initial question is fortunate or unfortunate, you then go on not to give facts, but opinions. you have heard the phrase if your granny had of had balls she she would be your Granada. i could sugar coat any match report, or alternatively pee on someones parade about a result. one thing you will not change is the results and history dictates that. i am sure you know that oxidation takes the shine off copper and turns it green with envy, a little hard work can bring that shine back, now go out today and try and look for the good in things, you might feel really good about yourself and get a better nights sleep.

fortunate and unfortunate? i think the events of 2002 were running through ballacks mind all season. this made him play harder and care more (you could see he really cared from his celebration after scoring against united). i dont think fortune comes into it. things dont happen for a reason, they just happen. and it just so happens that terry hit the post. thats life. also, united have a lot of drive. no matter who is playing. the fans really get behind the team because we know that anything can happen (notebly, a winning goal against arsenal this season). the fans make a big difference.
