Should FIFA pass a law that would keep national sides from adding Brazilians to their squad.? I know that all you need to play for a country is citizenship. But a lot of countries are taking advantage of that and add players to their squad from other countries to make them better. These players are in no way from their country. They were not born there and did not grow up there. Examples: Qatar Portugal: Pepe, Deco Spain: Senna Turkey: Aurelio The list could just go on. These players are only on the squad as they are not good enough to play for brazil and were given citizenship only for the purpose to play football for that particular country. I think that is very unfair towards the countries that compete fairly. If everyone started doing that then we would not have a fair competition anymore at all. Turkey will field Aurelio tomorrow for instance. He is in no way turkish. He was not born there and did not grow up there. He first came there to play fooball at age 25 or so and only plays for them as he is not good enough to play for Brazil. nobody here is getting the point. china could technically dish out citizenships to 11 players from different coutries who are not good enough to play for their own, yet they are still very good. That would make China a great football country and they would play a major role in every single tournament. But considering that these players had not grown up in that country, where is the identification in that? China does not do that as I would like to mention though. They are competing fairly and so are many other countries. But with certain countries that is not the case. I'm surprised that people do not get this.

Should FIFA pass a law that would keep national sides from adding Brazilians to their squad.? your question is retarded.. once you become a citizen of a country... that automatically gives you every right as a citizen of that country. Here's an example: most countries, you need legal residency of three years before you can apply for citizenship.. once that happens.. you have the same rights as someone who became a citizen fifty years ago... question is: if someone was born in a country fifty years ago, and this person's family moved to a different country.. let's say 5 years later.. that would mean, that that person has lived in his new country for 45 years.. although he or she was not born there.. they really are of that country.. the point is that someone who became a citizen of a country 50 years ago or 3 years ago has the same rights under of the laws of that particular country.. fifa has nothing to do with it...Now if that particular player had played for Brazil first, for instance, then he won't be allowed by fifa regulations... because they are banned from playing for two different countries. but that's it.. To suggest the exclusion of one nationality is also considered racism and a discriminatory act.. which is against the law in most civilized countries. what you are suggesting is of political nature, not sports related. one final point... Brazilians who would otherwise not have a chance to play international football are probably not liking your question very much.

Should FIFA pass a law that would keep national sides from adding Brazilians to their squad.? first off theres a lot of brasilians that are GOOD ENOUGH to make the national team. but its HARD to qet on it, with there beinq SOO many brasilians! so most brasilians qo play for their father or mothers home country cause they have a better chanqe of playinq in the international level. . since theres a TON of braslians who try out for the brasil national team.

Should FIFA pass a law that would keep national sides from adding Brazilians to their squad.? mayerj72, Everybody on this board missed the point that you're trying to make which is,why countries give away a citizenship to a foreign born player just to use this player's talent to present the country in an international tournaments instead of using home growing native born to the country as a real presentation to the country. Note : I agree with you but it should not be decided by FIFA ,it should be decided by the people.the English people complained when an Italian coach was allowed to take over their national team and if it is allowed to happen, some day,the national team will look just like R.Madrid, M.United / U.N club then you'll not be able to decide which flag should you take with you & the rich countries will be expected to win because they have the best players the money can buy period !
