Luis Fabiano scored two goals and goalkeeper Julio Cesar stopped several goal attempts to get Brazil past Uruguay 2-1.

Uruguay played very well, got an early lead and dominated most of the match at Sao Paulo's Morumbi stadium however Brazil managed to beat them in the end.

Brazil played awful. Uruguay should have won this one.

"We couldn't even connect our passes," Brazil coach Dunga said." We didn't play well especially in the first period but we certainly will improve."
