Iraq v Australia - Dubai June 8th 2008?

I have been searching for football (soccer) tickets relentlessly for hours for the Iraq v Australia in Dubai. I am living in London at the moment and have enough frequent flyer miles available for a free return flight there. I just need the tickets, preferably ones I can pick up at the stadium or from a ticket office in London.

I can get the flights and the accom, I've checked and it's all available. I just need the tickets! Help please someone! If you know of the website that I can get the tickets it would be so much appreciated!
By the way, i am Australian. So I would need tickets on the Australian side. Thanks again!

Iraq v Australia - Dubai June 8th 2008?

Hey - I'm over in Dubai on vacation and I'm struggling as well to locate tickets, especially after reading in one of the sport newspapers at the weekend that the match is close to a sell-out.

I've spoken to the concierge at my hotel, he's been in touch with Al-Ahli football club (their stadium is hosting the match), and says he (the concierge) should know more from Thursday onwards.

I plan to go down to Al-Rashid stadium on Saturday in the hope I get a ticket if I can't locate one beforehand having, like you, spent ages on the net looking for ticket locations!

Cheers

Iraq v Australia - Dubai June 8th 2008?

Hi,

I am an Aussie living in Dubai and I am having exactly the same problem, I have been searching for a few days now for tickets to this game. I just rang the Al Rashid Stadium and the person at the stadium stated that the game will be held this Saturday the 7th of June 2008 at 18:00. He stated that the tickets will only be available to be purchased at the gate on the day of the game. This is the only information that I have found to date about the tickets. The FFA website states that the game will be held on the 7th of June at Al Ahli Club Stadium, Dubai (UAE), no time. FIFA website states that the game is on 7th June 2008 at 20:00, UAE time. Conflicting information at this stage. I hope logic prevails and someone posts an official message.

This looks like the name of the stadium and hence the 2 different names:
Al Ahli Club (Dubai) Rashed Stadium

Hey guys, I'm in the same position as you guys..

Really need to see the Aussies play as the last time was against Iran (what a disaster) in Melbourne... I plan on getting there at about 1600 well before the reported kick off of 2000, just in case everyone is wrong and kick off is infact 1800.

Goodluck guys, better to be safe then sorry, just get there early.. brave the heat!

C'Mon Socceroos!

Dear all,

I have confirmed with Al Ahli club that kick-off is at 8pm. Tickets at the gate. I also checked that the game is live in Sydney at 2:00am (which is 8pm in Dubai).
See you all there. Ozzie ozzie Ozzie. oi oi oi!

Hey everyone, don't panic the tickets will be cheap, I've heard they're 20 dirhams, which is about 3 pounds. I would recommend getting there early as the organisation of events here leaves alot to be desired as you may have gathered already about the lack of info or confusing info.

Have fun

Hi

I live in Dubai and it has taken me about 6 hours to find out where they are playing and that tickets will be available from the ground Al Ahli Club on Saturday morning (I am still doubtful). I have never come across anything like it. Frustrating Best of Luck Go Aussies.

The Tickets are available at Al Rashid Stadium at Al Nasr Club. Phone +971 4 2988700. The match Australia vs Iraq begins at 6.30pm on June 7th . It will make sense to get to the ground 2 hours early to secure a ticket . The ground has a capacity of 18,000. I believe there will be a lot of people but 18,000 is too many for Dubai because not so many people know this match is on. Carry enough water with you because it is hot in Dubai.

Hi everyone,
I go to watch football matches quite a lot here in the UAE. Tickets are rarely sold in advance for games at any level- even for UAE national games (such as the upcoming one against Iran at Al Ain on Sat). You can generally turn up at the ground 20 min before kick-off and get in for FREE, or for 20-40 dirhams, depending on which stand you want to be in. Be aware that kick-off times regularly change, so it might be worth going at the earliest time and finding a nearby hotel for a beer if there's a delay! In summary: really poor administration is common (hence confusion over tix and kick-off times), but the atmosphere is usually superb at matches! I'd be surprised if this one is a full-house (it'd be held at an even bigger ground, such as one in Abu Dhabi, if that was likely to be the case), so I hope you all get there... Come on Aussie! Cheers, John H
