Post AEK vs AC Milan 13 September 2006

H Milan 20:45 AEK

AC Milan, six-times European Champion Clubs' Cup winners, will make it to Athens this season. The Italian giants will face AEK Athens FC in what they hope will not be their only visit to the Greek capital, venue for May's UEFA Champions League final.

History
When the sides met in this competition at the same stage in 1994/95, Milan recorded a 2-1 victory in a home match that took place in Trieste, but were held 0-0 in the return. They are joined in Group H by French team LOSC Lille Metropole - in this phase for a second successive campaign - and RSC Anderlecht. The Belgian champions have a good record against Milan, having limited the Rossoneri to two stalemates in 1993/94. Lille, meanwhile, should be glad to renew acquaintances with AEK following their 2-1 away success over the Greek side in the 2004/05 UEFA Cup.

Looks very tough for AEK. But I like to look at it as promising for AEK b/c of their history of rising to battle giants, but lets be honest, AC Milan is not a pushover. Then again, neither is AEK. I'm looking forward to a great battle. With Zikos in the lineup, the Champions League may have become a whole lot more interesting.

Macedonian, I know you love these guys with your beloved PAOK and Hercules, but this will be very tough. After what AEK did to Real a few years back, I wouldn't be surprised, but it will be tough.

Hey Aek Man....

Inzaghis goal was offside! Our goalie should have stopped those headers... anyways we wont be able to beat them as they are up now 3-0....

The penalty was fake also but Milan's superiority was visible in the whole game. They deserved the win with let's say 2-0.

Broke my heart but what can you do? We just don't have the horses right now. I still think hte effort to get to the big show was worthy and we will get better still. Remember how good we were just a few years ago?

Yes I do. You were the best team not to get out of the group stage. You guys sure gave Real Madrid a hard time. It was fun to watch. What ever happened to theat brialliant left footed bloke? Tsiatis I think was his name.
